    Altough i like the idea of playing squads, it cant be done with a small number of players. With a small group it is hard to join upon the same side on a full server without any admin rights. we basically have no control as guests. therefore if autobalance is active, it could take a good while to be on the same group. while playing on our own server with a small group isnt enough to fill up the server (maybe the server is also to small with only 36 slots instead of 72/80 slots). a smaller server with only a limited number of players appears not attractive for public players. the manpower needed to fill the server is therefore actually enough to play an arma mission. Not quite sure what to make out of it. In the past i played quite a bit squads with liquid. even as a two man group we struggled to be on the same server and some side. today even on a saturday evening only one guy joined for a limited time.


    how about insurgency or insurgency sandstorm? this at least offers coop for a small team?

    my intension was just to keep something busy on the server. i recently, as i got holidays, started to play public arma again. it clearly is a mess. what we experienced within our last public session was high quality gameplay (believe it or not, usually it is way worse). we got a highend infrastructure which is just used for our thursday and saturday missions while it is online 24/7. we may verywell run something meanwhile.


    antistasis has many errors and turned out not stable enough. we had many 'resets' which caused all progress to be lost. liberation was rather quickly done and didnt provide a long term experience.


    therefore i came to my initial question. back in arma1 i made some sort of altislife with limited pvp. it took a extrem ammount of time setting it all up, yet i still got most of my scripts (dynamic stock market, buy properties, do farming or mining, perform illegal activities, join police force, do raids and even speeding control, become paramedic or politician and in the end join the army to fight off in a dynamic war against the other side of the island or negotiate temporary peace as politician). it was besides working on ACE what i spend months on work on, but as i was used to scripting from OFP i was fine with it. i kinda hoped someone did the same for arma3. i sincerly dont have the massiv ammount of time to translate all scripts to arma3 (some are still in old .sqs format, some sqf and fsm but overall they are outdated). furthermore sadly it seems all the people i used to know, dont play arma anymore except the creators of GM to which i never been to close to (specially mondkalb) - kinda feel old now. so i cant lure people to us and profit from beeing known as i used to be in the community. most of my project never got continued except a few ACE things.


    well, i got a bit carried away. nevermind that. i just think it makes sense to run a long term mission outside our events. i just dont know what.

    please make them really short. since our channel may only get a small numbers of views, a quick splashscreen may do it. people get bored otherwise before even reaching the video content..

    Is there someone who plays this "Altislive" and other live things?


    The most populare private servers all run those Roleplaymissions. Is there any interest in us hosting something like this? would it make sense for recruitment?

    we will see how it goes within future. i had quite a good fun. overall thats the main reason to play games.


    we showed some unity, specially at the beginning even without tags. i therefore strongly suggest using the GOL Clantag when we do this sort of thing to show people who we are.


    i think we can get a nice mix of locations where to play and missions to be played. just all spotanous, but you are right about an earlier shoutout and posting on calender.


    we also need a basic understand how use those games for advertising. maybe approach friendly players directly, spam chat once in a while or just show up as a unit.. no clue what works best. to get at least a bit of an idea, i've activated the webstats for our website which counts all clicks and shows where they are from:

    We currently face a decay in numbers - we got way more NCOs and reservists then grunts (only 2 active) , so it is extremly important to start doing something right now.


    Therefore i would like to invite you all to our redux of public games, starting off next week. I just want to get some feedback beforehand, yet i suppose it will be thuesday or wednesday each week.


    This event will be scheduled without a minimum attandance, but our player number will decide what we do - so i am thinking of the following schedule:


    >= 8-10 Players: Mission or Zeus mission on our server with mods (rhs, ace, cba, cup etc.)


    >= 5 Players: Mission or Zeus mission on our server without mods (vanilla arma)


    < 5 Players: Zeus mission (or mission) on a official server or recruiting friendly public server with teamleading or zeus position.


    < 3 Players: Offical public game or recruting friendly server without teamleading and zeus position, so just as players.


    We desperatly need NCOs to lead within those mission. I think i got enough experience meanwhile and can do zeus, but we need a good teamleader to get us trough. We will only play on our server with at least one full fireteam.

    Hey gents.


    We would like to run our server from sunday to thursday public. Within a first testing phase, i will try to switch the config myself on saturday or sunday and thursday before training. The idea is to give a plattform and oppurtinty to run your own missions (even wasteland, antistasis, liberation etc.) during that time.


    I will myself host a first testing mission around next week or the week afterwards. It will be a rather out of ordinary mission without respawn, something i've played with my old group (lsd) quite a lot. You wont encounter many enemies and the precision of the AI will be reduced, yet when joining you only have one life. Mission lenght will be around two houres and of course you wont encounter a lot of enemies. Would be great if a willing NCO is around to lead this, otherwise i do it myself like back in the old days, which means a lot of direct commands and slow progression.


    Maybe we can also play a few global mobilisation mission aswell hoofed

    Filth besides a quick change in server config, not at all. as we now run the latest versions of our mods, specially ace, rhs, cup etc., its way simpler then before as we had two servers and people had issues to use gol mods on the public server. we can now use the same mods as we usually do and people would be able to join. the biggest struggle in the past was with our outdated modset. through the monthly updates, this is not the case anymore.
