Declassified just a few weeks ago (watch announcement trailer), Arma 3 Contact arrives with a military science fiction singleplayer campaign that asks one huge question: what if humanity suddenly discovers extraterrestrial intelligence on Earth?

In the Arma 3 Contact campaign, you take on the role of a NATO drone operator deployed to the (fictional) Eastern European country of Livonia. After the discovery of an unknown subsurface object and the sudden arrival of a massive alien vessel, you are sent out on a reconnaissance mission to investigate the extraterrestrial presence. The priority: to learn who they are and find out why they are here. However, amid all the tension and chaos, armed conflict inevitably unfolds.

On top of the campaign, the Arma 3 Contact expansion brings with it many additions to the wider Arma 3 platform (watch sandbox trailer). The biggest of all is a new 163 square kilometer terrain, which covers the militarized and partly abandoned Nadbór region inside the Polish-speaking country of Livonia. This temperate summer environment is composed of forests, farmland, towns, railroads, the Biela river, and various special landmarks

Other highlights are the additional armed forces, namely the Livonian Defense Force and Russian Spetsnaz, 5 weapons, 2 vehicles, various gear, and a range of free bonus contentfor all Arma 3 players, including 100+ new decorative props and terrain objects. Furthermore, many of Arma 3’s official multiplayer modes can be played on the expansion's Livonia terrain as well, with new scenarios for Zeus Game Master, Combat Patrol, and Warlords.

To start making first contact, you can now pick up the Arma 3 Contact expansion on Steam with a temporary 10% discount until August 1st. If you are entirely new to Arma 3, we advise getting the Arma 3 Contact Edition or the newly introduced Arma 3 Ultimate Edition, which bundle the Arma 3 base game and downloadable content at a significant discount.

So, when you're ready, let's go say hello to our alien visitors. Enjoy!

This script is not to be taken word by word. Consider this a guideline on recruitment as a whole. This should give you a basic structure.

You're looking at the revised version.

Contents reduced on purely relevant aspects. The process has been split up in six rather than five steps, which should make everything a little easier to follow. Please post feedback below if you have any.

    ======================================================

Step 1: Make contact and arrange an interview.

    Step 2: Conversation

We would like to get to know the applicant. In turn, most applicants don't know much about us, either.

    Possible questions:

-How did you find out about the GOL?

-Have you played Arma before? If so, where...?

-What expectations does the applicant have of GOL?

Possible subjects for you to lay out:

-Recruitment period (two trainings, two major missions)

    -GOL Gameplay Style

    -LOA System and events

    -Reserves

    -Organisation

    -Rank structure

Please take any questions the recruit may have.

    Step 3: Duties & Priviliges

    Recruitment Period

-Attending two trainings and two major missions

-Post LOA if unable to attend events

    Members' duties

    -Attend events

-Post LOA if unable to attend events

    Privileges

-Two hand crafted teamplay events per week

-Possible optional events (public sessions, Neko Sundays)

    -Support with technical issues

    -Tutoring in Tactics & Procedures

-Giving feedback to the group and being heard

-Rising through the ranks according to contribution, effort and dedication.

Please take any questions the applicant may have.

At this point, the applicant agrees to his duties as a recruit/member. Likewise, the recruiter agrees to accept the application.

Note: You can deny an application!

    Possible reasons:

    -Insufficient language skills

    -Inappropriate attitude

    -Applicant is significantly underage

    Step 4: Formalities

Have applicant create a forums account.

    Upgrade account.

    Provide TS insignia.

Step 5: Ensure Basic Requirements are met.

-Link to GOL ARMA3Sync / Modpack instructions

    -Link to LOA - LOA

-Link to GOL Code of conduct

-Make sure the applicant owns required DLC (Apex, Contact) and recommended DLC (Jets, Marksman, Tanks)

    Step 6: Mentoring

    (after interview is concluded)

May not even be required. However, should be considered a common courtesy among recruiters.

    Open ended.

    Examples:

-Introduce applicant to present members on TS.

-Checking in personally. See how the applicant is getting on.

-Conducting a mod test once downloaded

    -TFAR/TS test

-Keybindings and menus awareness (ACE, GOL menus)

-Reminding applicant of scheduled events and the LOA requirement

-Sorting out technical issues using Teamviewer

-Ingame: Remind your fellow members that recruits are present and may need special attention.

    GOL Code of Conduct

The below code of conduct describes key Guerrillas of Liberation principles which are intended to maintain clan integrity and support enjoyable game play.

Team play - Team play is the core value of the Guerrillas of Liberation clan and is actively encouraged in all forms. Lone wolves or glory hunters will be given an opportunity to participate in team activities, where individual game play continues the player will be asked to leave the game.

Respect - Individuals are to respect their fellow clan members at all times. Any disputes should be dealt with in a mature manner between those involved outside of game time. Where issues are unresolved, GOL COs / NCOs will attempt to mediate and reconcile the dispute. Please note the best interests of the clan will take priority in any actions taken or decisions made.

Behaviour - Individuals are responsible for their own behaviour inside and outside of game play. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not disrupt clan events or gatherings. Examples of this include being disruptive, overly intoxicated or in-cohesive.

Prejudice - Any racist, sexist, homophobic or other prejudiced remarks will not be tolerated.

Political / Ideological Opinion - While political and ideological opinion can be expressed freely within the clan, we ask that any views or discussions that could potentially cause conflict within the clan be kept civil or if necessary, private to ensure clan well-being.
